The late great Zig Ziglar was one of my early mentors who I was lucky enough to meet at a live training event in Sydney Australia in the early nineties when I lived and worked down under as a Sales Director.

One of my favourite Zig’s quotes that resonated with me and is still so relevant today is “You can get everything in life you want if you just help enough other people get what they want.”

As a small business owner running your own professional wellness practice or service based coaching business you will be only too aware that your customers, clients and students are the lifeblood of your business and the more you can do to help your current clients achieve their goals, hopes and dreams and the more new clients you can attract on a regular basis to your business the easier it will be for you to achieve all your own hope goals and dreams.

Zig’s quote reminds us to put our clients needs at the forefront of our minds and to create and provide products and services that will provide solutions that help our clients reach their own full potential in both their personal and professional lives.

Keep an Ideas Journal

Each morning before you start work, sit down with a cup of tea or coffee, open up your journal and a spend five to ten minutes thinking about How you can help your customers, clients and students succeed. Start by thinking about the issues and challenges your ideal customers have in their business, and in their personal and professional lives and then think about the type of products, services or solutions you have or could create to help solve your clients issues or challenges.

If you keep an Ideas Journal and spend a few minutes each day on this simple exercise you will uncover and develop so many great ways that you can provide exceptional service to your clients and in return you will also be not only be rewarded financially but you will develop a reputation as a go to solution provider who really understands their clients.

Just imagine if you only came up with one idea a day, five days a week. In just twelve months from now you will have uncovered 260 new or improved ideas and ways to help your clients succeed. What a great way to stand out from your competitors and make a positive difference in the lives of your clients.
